Dave Chiller, M.S.
I started Common Pulse in 2001 to provide opportunities for all types of groups and individuals to experience the joy, benefits and potential of interactive rhythm and music programs.
My passion for rhythm and music comes in part from playing and studying percussion over the past 30 years. As a child and young adult I explored blues, jazz and rock. In the last decade I have been fortunate to study with teachers of West African, Cuban, and Indian rhythm cultures. I am currently exploring the Indian tabla, having started my studies with Ankush Vimawala and continuing with Doug Scheuerell.
As a teacher/leader/facilitator, I draw on my experience as an educator and facilitator in the U.S. and in Europe where I have worked with youth in schools and in camps and adults in college and business. My facilitation skills in a rhythmic environment have developed through training with Arthur Hull, the “father of the facilitated drum circle”, and Reinhard and Cornelia Flatischler and their TaKeTiNa rhythm process. I’m currently continuing my studies with TaKeTiNa and the Flatischler’s in an Advanced Leader Training.
I am grateful to be able to share the power of rhythm and music with all of you.
